This tour crosses the mountains to enter the cloud forest, where we observe some rides for several species of birds, orchids, and monkeys. After spending the night at our private lodge (Balcony Lodge), we continue by boat downstream for 3 hours to our Palotoa Amazon Lodge. Along the way, we will visit the hot springs. In the afternoon, we will do a night walk to observe spiders (tarantulas), insects, frogs, and snakes.
The next day, we explore the jungle primary (virgin) with the opportunity to see many species of monkeys, birds like parrots, and an incredible variety of plants such as giant trees, palm trees, and medicinal plants. We will camp for the night and witness a lick of mammals. At night, you can see tapirs, deer, and other animals.
On the fourth day, we return to the lodge and travel by boat to visit a beautiful lake and see capybaras and many bird species, spending the night near the river in tents. On the last day, we return to Cusco by boat and bus. The program may change according to the road, weather, river conditions, and the wishes of the group.
We will leave from Cusco by private bus, first stopping to visit the pre-Inca burial towers of Ninamarca. We then drive through the mountain to reach the typical folkloric town of Paucartambo, where we will take a short walk around the town before continuing on to Tres Cruces, the highest point and entrance to Manu National Park.
From here, we will continue into the cloud forest and, at San Pedro, we will walk for about 1 hour to observe the national bird of Peru, the Cock of the Rock, and many different kinds of monkeys, plants, and flowers. We will arrive at our Rainforest Lodge in the evening, where we will stay for the night.

During the boat trip, we will see many different kinds of animals, especially birds, and a beautiful landscape. Then, we will continue downriver to the R.E. Palotoa Lodge for dinner. Manu National Park is located in the southeast of Peru, in the provinces of Paucartambo in Cusco and Manu in Madre de Dios. It covers an area of 1,717,295.22 hectares.
Manu is 130 kilometers from Cusco city by road, which serves as the gateway to the Manu National Park. You can also reach Puerto Maldonado by land from Cusco or by air through Lima. From there, you can travel by boat along the Madre de Dios River to reach the Manu Reserve, although this route is farther and more expensive.
The best time to visit the Peruvian jungle is between April and November, during the dry season. The rainy season lasts from February to March, when access by road becomes more difficult, and paths in the forest can be flooded.
Manu National Park is divided into three parts: the cultural zone (buffer zone), the reserved zone (core zone), and the intangible zone. The cultural and reserved zones are designated for tourist use, while the intangible zone is reserved for scientific studies and requires special permits.
It is not a strict requirement, but you should be able to walk several kilometers to fully enjoy all that Manu has to offer.
There have been no reported cases of yellow fever, malaria, or malaria in Manu National Park. However, if you plan to stay longer in tropical areas, it is advisable to consult with your doctor for vaccination recommendations.
