DETAILED PROGRAM

Day 1. Puerto Maldonado – Amazon Lodge – Eco Adventure

We will be picking you up from the bus terminal or Puerto Maldonado Airport and will transfer you to our office. We will then give you a short briefing on what to expect on your three days Amazon Adventure.

If you are carrying any heavy luggage, we recommend you to leave it at our office while you are on the tour.

we will be boarding our motorized boat to our lodge, Paradise  Lodge. The lodge staff will extend a warm welcome to you.

Tambopata Adventure:

After checking in, we will start with our first adventure in Tambopata. We will be going to the hanging high canopy bridge and zip lines. A fleet of stairs will take us to the treetop. There is a platform here which marks the start of the zip-line almost 200 metres long.

The breathtaking views are only matched by the excitement of overcoming your fears and the adrenaline that  would course through you as you would leap off the platform. The platform is supported by the high security harnesses that connect us to the zip- line cable.

The 90 metres long walkway, hanging 35m above the floor, leads off this platform. It is quite a balancing act. It would take you to the platform at the start of the second zip line, at 180m.

After this, we will return to the lodge for lunch. Our chef will serve an authentic Amazonian native meal.

After lunch, we will take our kayaks to the river. Coupled with our high quality life jackets, our motor boat will be trailing to ensure that you are safe. This level one activity is relaxing and accessible for all.

We will then visit Monkey Island. Here you will witness a great diversity of monkeys. Capuchin, Tamarins and Squirrel monkeys are frequent here. We will put on a show of swinging through the treetops charging down the trunks of the large trees that form their home in order to accept food from your hand.

After this, we will return to the lodge for dinner. We will then do a short night walk to do some Caiman Spotting.

Day 2: Sandoval Lake Full Day (Exploring)

After breakfast, we will travel by boat to the control point of Tambopata National Reserved Zone. From here, we will be hiking for an hour and a half to Sandoval Lake. On our way we will be crossing immense ancient trees and entangled vines.

You will also see multihued flowers and fauna including: Giant Otters, birds, coloured butterflies, turtles, and a variety of fish. We will spend a few hours canoeing on this one of the most beautiful lakes in the region.

After exploring the lake we will have lunch in a camp at the edge of the lake. Optionally you can take a refreshing dip in the lake because the weather is very hot.

We will return to the lodge at around 04:00 PM.

Day 3: Parrots and Parakeet’s Clay Lick – Puerto Maldonado

Our third day of the Tambopata Adventure Tour begins early in the morning at 0400 AM. We will be embarking on an hour and a half boat ride to see the Parrot and Parakeet’s Clay Lick. This is an unmissable sight in South America.

The boat ride from the lodge to Parrot clay lick itself is interesting. You will be spotting many mammals and animals on the riverbanks, including Capybaras. They are the world’s largest rodents.

After the Parrot and Parakeet’s Clay Lick experience, we will return to the lodge for breakfast at around 8:00 AM.

We will then saunter on the shores of the river and go for fishing. We will try to catch some fish and bring them back to the lodge. Our chef will prepare you lunch.

After lunch, we will check out from the lodge and take the motorboat back to Puerto Maldonado. Our representative will pick us up from the boat pier and will drive you to the airport/bus terminal with a stop at our office
